How we can help

CareWorks provides a diverse range of support services
for people and families who are struggling.
Listed below are some of the ways we may be able
to assist you or perhaps someone you know.

During the COVID-19 restrictions, the way we deliver our services has changed. Call us to discuss your needs.

Our foodbank program provides immediate help through the provision of food hampers to families and individuals. The hamper normally provides 3 meals per day for 2-3 days for all people in the household.

Food vouchers are also available for those with special dietary needs if we don't have specialty food in stock.

Prepared meals are also available for emergency situations.

Helping Hand

Our Helping Hand Program is available to families and individals needing support during a financial emergency.

Depending on the circumstances, we may be able to assist with items such as rent, vehicle registration, utilities, transport costs and short-term accommodation.

Budgeting Assistance
We can also assist with basic budgeting for those who need help managing household spending.

Home Assist

Our Home Assistance Program provides delivery of food hampers to the elderly, infirm and housebound, who may be finding it difficult to make ends meet or to get to the shops.

Our volunteer drivers deliver food hampers each week, to people on the Home Assistance Program.

Christmas Hampers

Each year, CareWorks distributes Christmas hampers to individuals and families who can struggle to make ends meet during the festive season. Each year, more than 200 households are assisted, reducing financial stress and bringing extra joy.

The Sunbury community and local businesses have historically contributed generously to this program, providing Christmas goods and gifts to help spread the joy.

It's also a very busy time for our volunteers, but one that brings with it great fulfillment.

CareWorks is committed to offering every individual - young or old - a chance to be heard.

We believe that through listening, openly and with compassion, we can encourage and support people, not only by providing the practical services we have to offer, but also by allowing them to feel heard and have their feelings validated.

Our volunteers are selected and trained to be great 'listeners'.

Like most support services, CareWorks has its own areas of specialisation; however, where a specific issue is beyond the scope of our services, we can refer clients to other services from a network of complementary providers, of which we are a part.

We are committed to ensuring that all those with a need are both heard and helped, even if a specific need is not one we can meet with our own resources.

During the COVID-19 restrictions, the way we deliver our services has changed. Our office is no longer open to the public and all contact is now via telephone.

Clients can call between 9am and 2pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, to arrange to be contacted by one of our support volunteers later that day.

Deliveries of hampers are made the following day.
