What's been happening at CareWorks?
COVID-19 Impacts Restrictions on gatherings and social-distancing have certainly made a massive difference to the way we provide our services. All client contact now has to be via phone and we need to limit the number of volunteers we can have sorting, packing and delivering groceries. It's been great to see how our marvellous volunteers have risen to the challenge and continued to offer much-needed support to the local community. If you need assistance during this difficult time, call us on (03) 9740 5061.
The "Cage" For the last few months, our "cage" has been in place at Sunbury Square, receiving donations of groceries for our clients - local individuals and families doing it tough. As always, we've been totally blown away by the generosity of the Sunbury community, as we collected trolley after trolley of donated goods. Thanks Sunbury! The cage has now been removed, but you can continue to drop non-perishable goods into the Blue Bin at the front of CareWorks. The cage will be back in place later in the year, for our Christmas Hamper appeal.
Pets of the Homeless partnership It's been great to recently partner with Pets of the Homeless, an organisation that provides food, veterinary care and other support to pet owners who are at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. We've received a generous supply of pet food from this wonderful organisation, which we'll be passing on to homeless people within our local community.
