OUR SERVICES

FOOD BANK

Our foodbank program provides immediate help through the provision of food hampers to families and individuals. The hamper normally provides 3 meals per day for 2-3 days for all people in the household.

Food vouchers are also available for those with special dietary needs if we don't have specialty food in stock. Prepared/Frozen meals are available, subject to availability.

FOOD SHARE

Our Food Share rescues food through the Second Bite program. We use this food to help fill our hampers, distribute to other local agencies and provide food for School Breakfast programs. We also host a Food Share morning every Wednesday at our building - people are welcome to collect any excess bread, fruit and vegetables to help ease the burden of the rising cost of living.

HELPING HAND

Our Helping Hand Program is available to families and individuals needing support during a financial emergency.

Depending on the circumstances, we may be able to assist with items such as rent, vehicle registration, utilities, transport costs, medical bills and short-term emergency accommodation.

We can also assist with basic budgeting for those who need help managing household spending.

CHRISTMAS HAMPERS

Every December, CareWorks distributes Christmas hampers to individuals and families who struggle to make ends meet during the festive season. Our aim is to reduce stress and bring extra joy around this busy time of year.

LISTENING AND REFERRALS

CareWorks is committed to offering every individual - young or old - a chance to be heard.

We believe that through listening - openly and with compassion - we can encourage and support people, not only by providing the practical services we have to offer, but also by allowing them to feel heard and have their feelings validated.

Our volunteers are selected and trained to be great 'listeners'.

CareWorks is part of a network of complementary providers. If there is a specific issue beyond the scope of our services, we can refer clients to other services from our network.

We are committed to ensuring that all those with a need are both heard and helped, even if a specific need is not one we can meet with our own resources.
